A former major league baseball player for the Boston Red Sox and Milwaukee Brewers, Israel "Izzy" Alcántara wanted his custom Jordan J23 sneakers to feature the Arizona Diamondbacks' colors (red, black and beige), "A" logo, his jersey number, and the team's name. They boast a bible verse in Spanish.
Alcántara became a coach for the Jupiter Hammerheads in 2015, DSL Diamondbacks 2 in 2016-2017, and DSL Diamondbacks 1 in 2019 and 2021. He became a manager with the DSL Diamondbacks Back in 2022.
